All Credit due to Bruce Block
This blog is a research tool for me to compile notes that I've taken from Bruce Block's essential book, The Visual Story. Since we frequently reference Mr. Block's book, I am putting together a page that I can quickly refer to at my desk when building shots in layout. If you find any of this interesting or helpful, go out and buy The Visual Story. For anyone working in any kind of visual media this is an essential book. All the concepts, ideas, etc, that I am referencing in this blog are from Mr. Block's book.

Controlling Space 2
Flat Space
- Frontal Planes
- Subject on a single plane
- Would be even flatter if background had less contrast
- Telephoto lens
Deep Space
- Longitudinal Planes
- Converging lines
- Vanishing point behind the subject
- Wide angle lens
- Would be deeper if there were rows of flowers, on multiple planes of depth
